What is the Modern Art Dance Company?

The Modern Art Dance Company is a pre-professional performance based group which is separate from our weekly classes. Dancers must audition to be a part of this group. This group is for dancers who want a strictly professional atmosphere, fast paced progress, and to perform professionally.

The Modern Art Dance Company takes 2 Christian stories, a Christmas show and a show in the spring, and tells that story through dance at local venues. The full cast performs in all shows for the year.

Expectations of the Modern Art Dance Company

This group is expected to act professionally and maturely, coming prepared with materiel completely prepared prior to rehearsal starting. Dancers are expected to behave as pre-professionals during rehearsals and performances. This group is for dancers who want a strictly professional atmosphere, fast paced progress, and want to be treated as a professional. 

How often are rehearsals?

Rehearsals are once a week for 1 hour. The week of the performances there will be occasional 2 hour rehearsals or a 1 hour rehearsal the weekend of or the morning of the performance. Day of weekly rehearsal TBA.

When and where are performances?

This company will have multiple free performances throughout the year at various venues. There will be a Christmas themed show and an end of the year show. Dates TBA. Locations include local churches, libraries, schools, etc. 

Who can audition to be a part of the company?

Auditions are open to any age dancer who would like to be considered. The company casts those who present themselves in a professional way, exhibit exceptional technique, retain information and choreography quickly, and are professional and focused in rehearsals. It is recommended that dancers be at least 12 years old-adult.

• Cast from previous years must re-audition.

• Dancers only need to come to one of the auditions dates.

• Please come dressed appropriately to dance and already warm.
